The trial of Destiny Mink Nursie is released from captivity and Clover plots her revenge

Director's Commentary Destiny was loosely based on the Dallas/Knott's Landing epic American soap opera type things. A ludicrous plot involving plastic surgery, outrageous frocks and accents from all over the world, never mind all over the States!! I did have great fun with this one, although it was getting near it's use-by-date, as this type of thing wasn't on TV much any more.  It was quite a large cast too, which always makes for interesting rehearsals - who's missing and who can read in?
Fondest memory is probably of spending a disproportionate amount of time producing not only menus for the restaurant scene, but also menus with lots of in-jokes in for the benefit of the cast during the last performance! I'm not usually one for playing practical jokes on the cast, especially during a show, but these guys could take it! The hardest part about this one, I think, was probably having to manage the ego of someone who, despite having only a minor role, felt that it was, nonetheless, a pivotal one, and dominated rehearsals accordingly.  My reserve of tact and diplomacy was sadly depleted by the time we got to dress rehearsals in the theatre

Was I In That One?  We’d picked up one or two new members for this tale of sex, power, money and nosejobs. This Soap Opera Farce also gave those with multiple parts a chance to try out different American accents. Or even those with just one part. In fact some accents were so different that members of the same family seemed to have come from different States.

Quote, Unquote  Dreadful American accents and lines like "I'm tossing you a curveball". One of my bottom three productions Joanne
Really big shoulder pads. American accents!! Another bad girl. Yeah!
Sharon
Loved this; the crazy accents and Gordon’s dusty butler
Helen
A bit silly - next time re-name it Density
